Based in the USA, Mexico, and now the Dominican Republic, INSPIRE Event Solutions delivers full-service event production across North and Central America, providing creative, technical, and bespoke AV solutions for a range of live events. From small, intimate setups to large-scale venues, INSPIRE collaborates closely with producers, technical directors, and AV teams, to deliver events of varying scale and complexity.
Much of INSPIRE’s work is built around its long-term partnerships with a number of hotel chains, where it provides in-house AV expertise for everything from straightforward meeting room setups to conferences, concerts, and large-scale productions for audiences of up to 5,000 people. As the scale and technical complexity of these events continues to grow, the company required an upgraded intercom system that would offer greater flexibility, reliability, and scalability across its communications workflow.
Having relied on a previous intercom system for many years, the growing demands of INSPIRE’s services began to expose the limitations of this setup. “Some of the events we work on require as many as twenty-four beltpacks, with multiple teams operating across separate communication channels,” says Samuel Mancebo, Director of Event Technology and Creative Services at INSPIRE. “One channel will be for the audio team, one for camera operators, one for show direction, production, etc. While our existing intercom system had served us well, the increasing scale of our projects began to reveal its limitations, with users experiencing unwanted noise and inconsistent headset levels that made it difficult to sustain.”
The first step in expanding its communications capabilities came with the introduction of Riedel Communications’ Bolero wireless intercom system, which quickly became an integral part of its event production workflow. “Bolero proved essential to our services,” explains Mancebo. “So, when the time had come to explore new wired options, we wanted something that could directly integrate with Riedel’s wireless system.”
The brief for the new solution was clear. INSPIRE needed a professional communications system that could deliver high-quality audio, support for multiple users and channels, and be deployed with ease, while remaining accessible for clients who did not require a larger wireless system.
At InfoComm 2025, INSPIRE was first introduced to PunQtum on Riedel Communication’s booth, immediately considering its digital partyline solution as a suitable upgrade. PunQtum offered a practical and affordable way to expand INSPIRE’s communication setup while maintaining close integration with Bolero.
The company invested in a complete PunQtum solution, consisting of two Q210 Speaker Stations, sixteen Q110 beltpacks and sixteen Q915 headsets. “The ability to connect each unit over a standard network cable removed much of the complexity of larger events, proving far more reliable and simpler than running long lines of analogue XLR cable,” Mancebo continues. “It also made the system easier to maintain on site, as network cable is simple to run, replace and adapt as room layouts change. The ability to configure and manage the system from a computer-based interface made configuration and day-to-day operation more straightforward for our team.”
PunQtum’s Q110 beltpacks fit perfectly into INSPIRE’s event workflow, providing two channels of partyline intercom and allowing for up to eight daisy-chainable units to be connected on a single network connection. “Being able to deploy multiple beltpacks across dedicated communication channels has really helped tie teams together,” says Mancebo.
While PunQtum may be a new name to some of INSPIRE’s clients, its connection to the Riedel Communications ecosystem has helped build immediate confidence. “Clients may initially ask for systems they are already familiar with, but once we explain that PunQtum is recommended by Riedel as a complementary solution, they have complete confidence in the setup.”
The first major deployment of the PunQtum solution came during an event hosted by a Canadian banking client, where INSPIRE was asked to deliver a multi-room intercom setup linking indoor and outdoor spaces. PunQtum beltpacks were deployed throughout the venue to support wired communication, while Bolero provided wireless coverage between zones. The team installed a Bolero antenna in each area to extend wireless coverage across the site but initially encountered challenges when configuring the integration between the wired PunQtum system and the Bolero wireless setup.
“We contacted the support team and were pleasantly surprised by the quick response,” reveals Mancebo. “They provided same-day, step-by-step instructions that allowed us to configure and deploy the PunQtum and Bolero integration across the site. The delay was minimal, with everything up and running in time for rehearsals.”
Since adopting PunQtum, INSPIRE has been able to offer a reliable, high-quality alternative to older analogue intercom units, helping to eliminate unwanted noise and inconsistent headset levels to reduce setup complexity for on-site teams. “When we take on new projects or clients, we want to deliver clear communication without technical distractions, with the flexibility to expand as need,” Mancebo states. “With PunQtum, we can now offer that with confidence, whether the system is being expanded with Bolero or integrated alongside other analogue or wireless solutions.”
Looking ahead, INSPIRE Event Solutions plans to continue developing its PunQtum intercom solution as event requirements become more demanding. With sixteen beltpack units currently in operation, the company is already considering doubling its inventory, giving its teams even more flexibility to scale communications for both small and large-scale productions across the region.
